Magical indeed it was! Intimate theatre and WRS Productions’ “Magic To Do” is a musical revue dedicated to the supreme star that is Stephen Schwartz. The show stars four talented and vivacious performers who sing and dance their way through a score of his many musical achievements.
The performers sing individually and as an ensemble, portraying various characters, emotions and scenarios. They are a tight knit bunch, their connection and mutual admiration for each other palpable.
The transitions between songs are smooth and the staging is nicely varied. The selection of songs include well known favourites from hit movies ( think ‘Pocahontas’ and ‘Enchanted’) and lesser known hidden gems.
Conceived by Chris Adams and Wendy Bross Stuart, and starring the talented Chris Adams, Kat Palmer, Sayer Roberts and Alison Roberts, this is a magical musical revue you should make time to see- musical theatre lover or not. An uplifting, entertaining and lively show.
As a theatre blogger for GVPTA, my ticket was provided free of charge to this production. That being said, opinions and statements made are my own. This is not a review, but a post meant to promote discussion within the Vancouver Theatre Community. GVPTA supports its member companies.
